MOBILESTAR NETWORKS, Richardson, Texas 2000 - 2001 Retained by Board of Directors to drive the roll-out of the first national broadband wireless network with key customers Starbucks Corporation, Compaq and MSN. Reporting to the Board, led weekly joint senior executive committee with national strategic partners. Developed first mass market/consumer retail Hotspot offerings, including co-branded in-store collateral, OEM channel partnerships and retail employee education programs. Drove company's consumer-focused repositioning, development of consumer-focused customer acquisition strategy, sales channels and strategic partnerships. Built from the ground floor with three founding partners a $200 million Silicon Valley venture capital firm focused on early-stage telecommunications infrastructure companies. As the venture firm's point to accelerate the portfolio companies' strategic growth, led 12+ portfolio company C-level teams on high-impact positioning, strategy, business development, marketing and communications programs. As a member of the venture firm's executive team, led the strategic positioning, marketing, branding and communications to LPs, industry and entrepreneurs. Co-founded $5 million annual budget global summit convening international political, business and religious leaders focused on creating a post-Cold War roadmap. GORBACHEV FOUNDATION, San Francisco, California 1992-1994 Created and led international humanitarian and policy programs with Mikhail Gorbachev including $3 million airlift for Bosnian children, $2 million airlift for Russian children and international arms control campaigns with other world political leaders and Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. 1988-1990 Oversight of annual $4 billion US Foreign Assistance programs, international treaties and Presidential foreign appointments for Senator Humphrey. Member of the legislative team spearheading creation of first US government programs to integrate former East Bloc countries. Crafted and secured passage of Joint Resolution condemning Chinese massacre in Tiananmen Square. Led policy formation for Sudanese conflict and famine, China human rights policy following Tiananmen Square, and implementation of the Brazzaville Accords for Angola. Official intelligence-gathering trips to 20+ countries, including war-time duties in Sudan, Angola, Namibia, South Africa, Afghanistan.
Creation and oversight of $800 million annual Congressional military and humanitarian programs supporting the Afghan resistance. Spearheaded creation of Afghan Government-in-Exile. Led creation and passage of legislatively mandated $35 million USAID cross-border programs and managed oversight of implementation including cross-border intelligence.
Oversight of and management for Senior Senator from New Hampshire of all international policy, trade and treaty issues to come before the US Senate.
